Grade 1 Old thin scrap
Material from demolition work and industry, used and unserviceable goods.
Less than 6 mm thick
Maximum dimensions: 1.50 x 0.50 x 0.50 m

Grade 2 New thick scrap
Waste material from production processes which is collected in as-new condition. Material from overproduction.
At least 3 mm thick
Maximum dimensions: 1.50 x 0.50 x 0.50 m

Grade 3 Old thick scrap
Material from demolition work and industry, used and unserviceable goods
At least 6 mm thick
Maximum dimensions: 1.50 x 0.50 x 0.50 m

Grade 4 Shredded scrap
Old steel scrap fragmentised into pieces not exceeding 200 mm in any direction for 95% of the load.
Free from incineration scrap, bulk density at least 0.9 t/m3
Metallic ferrous content at least: 92%

Grade 5 Steel turnings
Homogeneous or mixed lots of carbon steel turnings, free from excessive amount of bushy turnings. The turnings must be free from all contaminants such as non-ferrous metals, scale, grinding dust and heavily oxidised turnings or substances from the chemical industry.
Free from turnings from castings and automatic lathes etc

Grade 6 Bales
New thin steel scrap, less than 3 mm thick, compacted or in the form of bales.

Grade 8 New thin scrap
New thin steel scrap except rolled/bound strips
Maximum dimensions: 1.50 x 0.50 x 0.50 m

Cooling pellets
Deep-drawing quality, bulk density at least 2.3 tonnes / m3,
spherical pellets, dust-free and dry,
Dimensions: between 20 and 50 mm in diameter
